Haha, I like Corey.
I’m sick.
I would love to see these disturbing images by Tierney Gearon move. Whenever I find a photographer I like, I always wonder what kind of film they would make.
INT. FRUSTRATION - NIGHT
I’ve really started to enjoy the process of writing, but I still wish my ideas would write themselves. School starts in a couple days and I still have two screenplays I want to start, but I know once I step back into school I wont be able to spend as much time working on them. I do have three day weekends now, and this is the first time in a year where I’m not going to school from 10ish to 7ish, so maybe I will be able to manage my time better.
David Lynch directed a Gucci commercial.
“Not beautiful photography, not beautiful pictures, but rather necessary pictures, necessary photography.”
No one is going to watch this film.
I stripped as much action as I could from Another Happy Place, and I’ve purposely made the film as tedious as possible, with long run on sermons from Seymour that last up to seven minuets in length. I also tried to take out any obvious narrative devices, or any thing in the plot that would keep an audience member watching for entertainment. The only things left are the characters and locations.
Monty Python's Life of Brian
Brian:Look, you've got it all wrong! You don't NEED to follow ME, you don't NEED to follow ANYBODY! You've got to think for yourselves! You're ALL individuals!
The Crowd (in unison):Yes! We're all individuals!
Brian:You're all different!
The Crowd (in unison):Yes, we ARE all different!
Man in Crowd:I'm not...
The Crowd:Shhh!
With every film I write I hope to offend two thirds of the civilized world in some way or another.
Rory and I finished Tigers tonight. I also finished the first 5 episodes of The Maxwell Billington Journey: Her Majesty, and I’m halfway done with the rewrite for Another Happy Place. This has been a very productive break.
I found the visual inspiration for the Maxwell Billington Journey (a script I’m in the process of writing).
This has to be one of the greatest trailers ever.
Mary Surratt’s boarding house is still standing in the Chinatown area of Washington D.C.; it is now a Chinese restaurant called Wok and Roll.
Productivity
Parts I-IV of the Maxwell Billington Journey are complete. I now need to end it.

In defense of self-promotion
If we’re going to have an Individual Revolution — ie, if we accept that we can be successful without the help of powerful companies — how are we going to find out about each other?
The answer is self-promotion. Who can explain what makes me great with more enthusiasm and authenticity than myself? If I’m not paying my label to plaster my face on a billboard, can I be blamed for speaking boastfully on my little website? Is it so narcissistic to post the best photos of myself when I have the largest private collection of them in existence?
Many of us are afraid to talk about our achievements, even when neglecting to do so is dishonest. If you are special; ie, if you have personally done something great, by all means, bring it to my attention. You can rather safely assume that if you don’t, nobody will. And if they do, you won’t feel they did it justice. I’ve gotten quite a bit of press and never felt like it conveyed me properly.
Tomorrow I’m going to post, boastfully, about something that I god-damn earned with my own ingenuity.
Well said.
